This wallpaper deserves to be highlighted because of many reasons:
The fence looks so real and detailled that you can almost touch it. In many cases, wallers copy and paste similiar objects of the background (e.g. flowers). But this fence looks like it has been drawn stroke by stroke.
The colours and combination of highlights and shadows create a dark and mysterious atmosphere which suits the manga perfectly. I'm glad dolce-yasmin didn't stick to the original colours which wouldn't be as effective as the brown tone.
Not to forget the vector itself which is not only a huge improvement of the original scan, but also shows you dolce-yasmin's improvement of her vectoring skills!
So, I wanted to take my time instead of rushing a comment back to you, but I ended up still taking forever. My apologies about that.
When i look back on what i was able to do when i started it does seem like a very long way =) I remember how i was even wondering how people could cut a character out from a screenshot or scan and make those awesome wallpapers xD
I don't doubt that the road was incredibly lengthy, but I'm sure it was worth it every step of the way as well. Here you are now, in a place to inspire those around you to get into walling, or perhaps those that are into art to take a more creative approach. I can only imagine how that feels!
Honestly speaking, I'm glad that you were able to upload it onto here. I do think that while it's important for certain sites to stick to a specific format, allowing for inspiration instances like this to be present to everyone is just as important.
Another thing is, it has to do with Deviantart. You see on Deviantart i'm not one of those famous people, and i've noticed how all of this goes around in a little evil circle. I often see some people make really good stuff, and have so little attention on their work, just because they arent already famous, while thsose who are famous, could upload something really boring, yet still get alot of attention, just because they are famous on DA.
That's a big reason why I have never been a fan of Deviantart. I've seen that structure before and it basically forces those, even through they may have a great deal of potential or talent, to basically lose out while more mainstream individuals are the sole focus. It happens on sites like AP and MT, but it is far, far worse on there. That's why I understood why you also submitted it here, even though you had it on there as well. I know quite a few members also have dA accounts as well, so hopefully that'll help build up a bit of steam and keep that ball rolling.
Again, glad to hear you like it, however i hope this wasn't just a lucky shot xD So i hope i can make something this good again in the future ^^
I sincerely doubt that it was just a lucky shot. I have no doubt that your next piece will be just as good, or even better.
YAYz!!sank you!!!!<3<3
you are really really great!!!|(n_n)|i'm bery reliefed now cause i was kinda nervous the whole week about it!!i was afraid i would get scolded..(..);

I guess you saw it from TMI-scans eh?
well yeah, i\'m part of their scanlation team....and when i come across a good scan, i colour it to......
hey no problem :]
if you want, i'm glad to see the psd of what you doing until now.
And by what i know, very very soon the scanlation on chapter 64 and 65 (that will release on 12th) will release...maybe there will be some cool scan _
Its both my major and my job yeah...and i didn't expect that question at all.
Fist of all you can't find any design high schools just because there are none. In high school nobody will try to teach you graphic programs or such. you can take em as extra classes in some schools but thats rare and too basic for your interests I assume. Instead you would have gotten into a fine arts school. That would be beneficial in the future since you would have very good drawing skills as well as designing skills (assuming you get into a design department in collage)
Don't mind those different names much...they are practically the same thing. Everyone of them is designers but different professions. Some play with typography some with visual elements and some draw from scratch. Graphic design has a very big area to work in seriously...you can work in advertisement companies; magazines, papers, software business, web site making, as well as 3d animation business. They are all kinda design works if you get what i mean. After all graphic design's purpose is the same for all of them: To get attention on what you are doing either using typography or visual elements effectively.
And no i don't have any experience coming from high school. I only have a 2 year experience in this department actually because i changed departments (coming from computer management). Lets me just say something straight now; cos too many people are confused when they got in this department. One cannot teach how to design...you ll only learn to use elements in some ways and try to spend much more time on your works than any other thing you do. Basically a time management thing that prepares you to the coming business cos its damn hard to stick up with what you do. How effective ll be these works...thats up to the person itself. This is not mathematics or any science department that you can stick with formulas and go for the solution. You have to create your own solutions and make them look really attractive that it should be accepted in others eyes. You gotta be consistent and hard working in order to succeed. Its same with most of the business but since this is about creativity it ll be much harder.
As for programs...I don't have a great range over the other universities around the world but let me tell you the basic programs you have to use if you ll be a designer. Adobe programs are a must of course. You have to use them effectively. just knowing them is not enough. You have to know which program is the best for what you do cos you won't be using all of them in the future; trust me. Any type of drawing program ll also do fine but it's better be skilled with your own hands then doing that in computer so i say practice on paper. If you wanna go for 3D animation business like me then you ll be choosing 3D based programs in your 3rd year (Thats how it is in my school) and they are usually Maya, 3D max and etc... Almost all you ll do until 3rd grade ll be craft work and drawings. Some design and typography works in 2nd semesters before 3rd grade but thats minor unless you are aiming for typo.
Anyways; hope this helps you to choose something. Just don't go for being a designer just because you like PS or walling...dig this carefully or you ll regret it later.
Damn...this must be the longest thing i have written in the last couple of months.
Hmm... well im sorry I dont got the Image anymore but that personne isn't Tatsuya From Bleach Its Jio Freed From 666Satan if u wanna get the image u can probly get it from google if u search for 666 Satan Manga ^^ sorry can't help you much
Hey there :] Thanks for the comment and the fave on me and Diane's latest wall :3 There's a lot of good original art walls out there, and the fact that you chose ours to fave really made my day >] Anyways, your input was appreciated!
omgnoes, thats a secret! eerm ya..i use adobe photoshop cs..and how i make my walls..it's really easy, but you have to find out yourself..i told only 2 persons how to make it, my bf and my brother, but they don't get it..so i guess you just have to find your own way..think about..what do you need.. need a shiny line? (dunno how to say in english) then make a line. make it shiny. :D you need sparkly dots? make dots. make them sparkly ^_^..easy, isn't it?
Ah, likewise, we all have different styles and different learning methods, for me, I can make walls in a span of up to 3 walls a day, but then that makes the wall pretty much useless as it is uninspired, if you wanna know what I mean, you can pay a visit to the thread in pictures or session zero and see my latest of garbage walls I made out of boredom.
Again, for me vectoring is very demanding, it takes time to trace, I have a little problem with moving so precisely over the lines, and I have even more problems maintaining enough patience to complete the thing.
Most of my walls are constructions of avid movements, when I make a wall, there is usually no rest, hours can pass by without my notice, and then some, most of the time I create walls n a long span of ever changing experimental steps, changing colors, going one effect over the other, gradient testing etc.
